Press release on today’s Revolutionary press conference

 For Immediate Release:

Gibson Guitar Starts a Revolution

Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz Smashes Guitar at Hard Rock Times Square before Introducing Revolutionary Firebird X

NEW YORK, New York…October 28, 2010….Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz introduced the new Firebird X at a packed press conference today held at the Hard Rock Time Square.  During the press conference Juszkiewicz talked about the leaders of innovation and the history of technology, all leading up to the unveiling of the Firebird X, a guitar positioned to change the music industry forever.  Stunned press looked on when Juszkiewicz smashed a guitar into pieces in front of the crowd ushering in a new era of guitar technology.

The Firebird X Guitar takes the guitar instrument to new heights of functionality and usability for the professional player and the aspiring enthusiast. Using technologies that did not exist even a few years ago, Gibson has enhanced an already outstanding instrument to unbelievable performance and creative heights. The enhancements touch every aspect of the instrument from using improved manufacturing technologies to the latest electronics.

Gibson’s design goal is to bring more creative options to the player while he or she is playing.  Thus the user interface has become richer and simpler. Fundamental musical effects are now available with a minimum of motion and disruption from playing the music.  At the same time, the player is able to see what is happening with the guitar very easily, again without disrupting his making music.

Juszkiewicz introduced luthier Frank Johns, who took to the stage to demonstrate the Firebird X guitar and then answered a round of media questions. The guitar will be produced in a very limited quantity worldwide and available on December 11, 2010. They will not be reproduced after the initial offering.  Even rocker Ace Frehley (photo below, right) was impressed!

China will be no. 1 market,,,,

There is a large Musical Instrument show in Shanghai, which is the home to Gibson China.

I am currently in Shanghai working with a new team to take our China operations to an entirely new level.  We have 4 large factories in various parts of China (2 guitar factories, 2 piano factories), plus our Sales and Marketing Company in Shanghai.  Our team came in from various locations to plan the next year.

We have a beautiful Flagship Gibson store which also serves as our HQ.

This will be our highest growth sector of the company and we are very excited.

Inside our flagship store is our staff which play in a rock band, and management.

Small dealer program coming soon

Gibson will be introducing a new program for small dealers allowing them to offer Gibson brands to their customers.  The program allows Gibson to establish a relationship with these entrepreneurial dealers efficiently, giving their customers the benefit of Gibson brand guitars and other products with a much reduced commitment on the dealerships part.

This program will be offered very soon through the Gear and Accessories division with shipments taking place in time for the Christmas selling season.  The program will start with a few retailers and build gradually throughout the world.

What is a revolution?

A revolution is a brew filled with vision of a better world and the courage to withstand the anger of those who hold on tightly to the flawed world of yesterday.  If enough people drink of this brew, there is an uprising that brings the vision to life.
